What a fun week..The Oxford County Democrats operated a booth for the duration of the Oxford County Fair featuring information on candidates for office and an opportunity for Fair goers to meet candidates and party leaders. The booth was managed by Roy Gedat, candidate for re-election for County Treasurer, and Norway volunteer Miriam Laster.

Materials for Maine Democrats candidate for Governor Libby Mitchell and Congressman Mike Michaud were included in the booth. Candidates for legislative office featured were Laura Ordway of Bridgton, Senate 13, John Patrick of Rumford, Senate 14, Chad McGrew of Bethel, House 91, Rep. Matt Peterson of Rumford, House 92, Rep. Sheryl Briggs of Mexico, House 93, Rep. Terry Hayes of Buckfield, House 94, Russ Newcomb of Norway, House 95, Rep. Helen Rankin of Hiram, House 97, Lisa Villa of Harrison, House 98, Alex Steed of Cornish, House 99, and Colin O’Neill of Oxford, House 100. County candidates included Treasurer Roy Gedat, Bob Kirchherr, candidate for Commissioner District 3, and Patricia Shearman, candidate for Register of Deeds East.

Democratic offices have been established on Main Street in Norway, Hancock Street in Rumford, Main Street in Bridgton and on Bridgton Road in Fryeburg. The offices are open for scheduled activities currently with hours to be added in October. Volunteers are welcome and may contact Cathy Newell at 875-2116 for information.
